The Australian Open continue to be underway in Melbourne. The best players in the world are
competing to win one of the four Grand Slam titles and first for the new year. Let’s take a look at
the tournament in our vip tennis combo tips for today.
Some interesting things are happening in the men’s singles draw. The current champion Roger
Federer was shockingly eliminated from the competition. The Swiss legend suffered a defeat in the
4th round, losing in four sets against the talented Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. Against him Federer
won the first set, but in the next three he was not as effective as we know him, allowing Tsitsipas to
win them all. There’s no doubt that for Tsitsipas, who is seeded as number 14 in the main draw,
this is his biggest win in his career so far.
In the 1/4-finals Stefanos Tsitsipas will have a great chance to make one more step towards the
final, facing the Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut. Bautista Agut, who is seeded as number 22 in the
main draw, reached the 1/4-finals after eliminating from the competition the former US Open
champion Marin Cilic. He needed five sets in order to beat the experienced Croatian and he did it.
Things didn’t go very well for the talented Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, who suffered a dissapointing
defeat in the 4th round against the American Frances Tiafoe. Being coached by the legendary
Andre Agassi, Dimitrov managed to win just one set against Tiafoe, doing too many mistakes on
the court. The Bulgarian hoped to reach the 1/4-finals at least and to face Rafael Nadal, but now
Frances Tiafoe will have the chance to challenge the Matador.
Speaking of Rafael Nadal, the Spanish legend continues to be merciless in Melbourne. In the 4th
round he met the experienced Tomas Berdych, but he didn’t face any problems against him. Nadal
was playing at the top of his game, not giving even a set to Berdych. In this way he proved that
he’s one of the main contenders for the championship trophy this year. In the 1/4-finals Nadal will
face Frances Tiafoe, so he needs to be careful. The American was an underdog against Grigor
Dimitrov, but he managed to win.
The 32-years old Nadal is trying to win his second win at the Australian Open. His only success so
far came in 2009, when he beat his biggest nemesis Roger Federer in the final.
The super talented Alexander Zverev from Germany dissapointed his fans, suffering a defeat in the
4th round against the Canadian Milos Raonic. Zverev was a favourite in this match, but he suffered
a loss in three sets. In the first two sets Zverev won just two games against Raonic, which is a
proof that he had some serious problems in this clash.
In the next phase Milos Raonic is going to face the Frenchman Lucas Pouille, who managed to
beat the Croatian Borna Coric in the 4th round. He’s seeded as number 28 in the main draw.
Another player who will participate in the 1/4-finals is the Japanese star Kei Nishikori. He had a
very tough match against the Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta in the 4th round, which he managed
to win in five sets. In the 1/4-finals Nishikori will face either the world number one Novak Djokovic
or Danil Medvedev.
What’s happening in the women’s singles draw? Let’s take a look in our vip tennis combo tips.
The legendary Serena Williams made a serious step towards the title in Melbourne, beating the
current number one Simona Halep in the 4th round. The American prevailed in three sets and she
proved that she’s still very good, even after giving a birth to her first child. In the 1/4-finals Williams
will face Karolina Pliskova from the Czech Republic, who managed to eliminate Garbine Muguruza
from the competition.
Serena Williams is playing for her 8th title at the Australian Open. For the last time she won the
tournament in 2017, when she achieved a win over her sister Venus Williams in the final. How we
said, Serena is back in action after giving a birth, so it’s really impressive what she’s doing at the

Meanwhile the №4 seeded Naomi Osaka from Japan also reached the 1/4-finals. Osaka faced the
Latvian Anastasija Sevastova and won in three sets. In order to reach the 1/2-finals in Melbourne,
Osaka will have to beat the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina. Svitolina reached this phase of the
competition, beating the American Madison Keys in three sets.
The two times Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova also reached the 1/4-finals in Melbourne. She
prevailed over Amanda Anisimova from the USA, giving her just three games. In the next phase
she is going to meet the Australian Ashleigh Barty. She made one of the biggest surprises in
Melbourne this year, eliminating Maria Sharapova in the 4th round. Barty lost the first seg against
the Russian, but in the next two sets managed to achieve one of the biggest wins in her career.
Meanwhile another Russian managed to reach the 1/4-finals of the Australian Open. This is
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who achieved a win in three sets over the former US Open champion
Sloane Stephens. In the 1/4-finals she’s going to face another American – Danielle Collins.
Collins also caused a big upset in Melbourne, giving just two games to the №2 seeded Angelique
Kerber from Germany. It was a surprisingly dominant performance by Collins, especially when
Kerber was the big favourite to win the clash.
These are our vip tennis combo tips for the ongoing Australian Open. Glory awaits, because
winning this tournament is a matter of big prestigie. Elite players like Roger Federer, Simona
Halep, Marin Cilic, Caroline Wozniacki and Maria Sharapova were already eliminated from the
competition, but other are still here. And you can be sure that we are going to see some terrific
matches until the very end.
