Torino welcomes Lecce at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in a last game from the third round of
the Italian Serie A. We will try to take a good look at this fixture between these two sides in our
football prediction tips. Let’s go.
Walter Mazzarri’s Torino started the new campaign in the Calcio in the best way possible – with two
wins from the first two rounds, which allowed the Bulls to climb up to third place in the standings.
After beating Sassuolo in the first round, Torino achieved a great win in Bergamo over one of the
strongest teams in the league – Atalanta. Kevin Bonifazi, Alex Berenguer and Armando Izzo
secured the win for the visitors, who look to be in a really good shape right now. Torino started their
season early because of Europa League, so it seems that now they are in a good match practice.
In the same time the newcomers Lecce are struggling since the beginning of the campaign. The
Salentini are still without a point, being 19th in the standings with 0 points. In their two games
played so far, Lecce suffered defeats against Inter and Hellas Verona.
Just before the international break, Lecce hosted Hellas Verona at the Stadio Comunale Via del
Mare, but suffered a 0-1 defeat. The Salentini could have won a point here, but Hellas Verona’s
Matteo Pessina scored a winner for the visitors just nine minutes before the end of the game.
There’s no doubt that Torino are a huge favourite in this game, especially at home. The Bulls are
showing a very good shape at the moment, being flawless in the league since the beginning of the
campaign. Meanwhile Lecce are having some trouble to be competitive so far and they will enter
this game with the statute of underdogs.
